Steven is an accomplished product liability attorney and commercial litigator, who has assisted foreign and domestic manufacturers and distributors in litigation throughout New England and New York. He represents clients in litigation arising from personal injury, product defect, property damage, premises liability, and commercial disputes. Steven has experience in federal and state court including bench and jury trials, arbitrations, mediations, conducting depositions, arguing dispositive motions, and developing cost-effective litigation strategies.
  
Steven practiced with Cornell & Gollub in Boston before it combined with Smith Duggan Buell & Rufo LLP in 2023.  Prior to joining Cornell & Gollub, he was a litigation associate for several years at another firm in Boston where he concentrated on person injury litigation.

Steven brings a unique perspective to the practice, given his experience representing both plaintiff and defense clients in various areas of law including complex personal injury, product liability, toxic tort, business litigation, landlord-tenant disputes, and family law matters.

Accomplishments

  • Assisted team in achieving a defense verdict on all counts for an automotive client in a product liability case involving alleged personal injuries in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
  • Obtained a seven-figure settlement for a client whose spouse was struck by a motor vehicle.
  • Obtained summary judgment for the defendant in a contract action involving the purchase and sale of property.
  • Achieved successful mediation and settlement for a client involving the Massachusetts Wage Act claim that was brought against an employer.
  • Successfully argued in opposition to a motion for summary judgment in a motor vehicle accident action involving sudden medical emergency defense.
  • Successfully tried both jury and bench trials as lead counsel in Massachusetts state courts.
